‘Los Retornados’ tells the story of a Maya community in Guatemala, fighting the construction of a hy-
droelectric dam. This is set against their memory of the genocide on the Mayan
population during
the armed conflict.
Combining powerfull testimony with strong visuals, the film exposes a forgotten
genocide and connects it with todays struggle for indigenous rights and the defence of biodiversity.
