In 2019, 15 young women and men have participated in a workshop on storytelling and filmmaking in Akkar. They were trained by a professional team to develop their stories and direct their first short films focusing on characters from the rural setting, alongside environment and nature.
The workshop, in partnership with Beirut DC, aimed at encouraging the participants to use cinema as a tool for telling stories that shed light on Akkar and the diversity of its residents
and its various and unique traditions. The final outcome was 9 short films.
