REEF’s third program is dedicated to documenting and supporting stories that capture the essence of Lebanon’s environment and rural life. By providing a platform for both emerging and established creators, REEF encourages the production of narratives that highlight the beauty and challenges of Lebanon’s ecosystems. While the primary focus is on audiovisual arts, particularly cinematography, REEF also supports storytelling through written texts, theater, and music. These narratives play a vital role in preserving memories, transferring knowledge, and amplifying diverse voices, particularly those from underrepresented communities.
REEF’s mentorship and support have led to the creation of stories allowing local talent to document and share rural and environental stories. This program provides an important platform for underserved communities, sheds light on valuable and critical issues and contribute to the broader cultural landscape.
REEF’s work model involves organizing residencies, labs, and training sessions that bring together creators and environmentalists, fostering cross-disciplinary exchange, knowledge acquisition, and the initiation of artistic creation, production, and public dissemination.
harnesses the power of arts and knowledge-sharing to raise awareness of environmental protection, foster connections among rural communities, and inspire the crafting of a new collective narrative.
